Eudora E-mail Support Discontinued March 1, 2008

As of March 1, 2008, NUIT will no longer support the Eudora e-mail application. This change is due to Qualcomm's recent announcement to end their association with Eudora.

Qualcomm will no longer provide critical security updates or patches and will not offer ongoing technical assistance for Eudora. Per NUIT standard operating procedure, NUIT cannot offer customer support for software that is not supported by the vendor.

Impact on End User

Eudora mail users should find an alternate e-mail tool as soon as possible. Best effort support will be provided for Eudora until March 1, 2008. NUIT has provided online step-by-step instructions for migrating to another e-mail application.

The following is a list of NU supported e-mail clients:

  • Outlook Express (Win)
  • Apple Mail (Mac)
  • Entourage (Mac)
  • Thunderbird (Mac and Win)
  • Outlook (Win XP)
  • Microsoft Windows Mail (WinVista)

If you are having trouble setting up your new e-mail client, NU has detailed setup instructions for all supported e-mail.

Current data stored in Eudora can be migrated to other e-mail clients.  To migrate e-mail from Eudora to another e-mail client, follow the links below:
