What's New and Changing

Information for iPhone Users Now Available

Posted Date: 04 Sep 2007

Effective Date: 04 Sep 2007

Since the June release of the iPhone, users have flocked to capture this new and emerging technology. Understanding that iPhones are becoming more prevalent on campus, Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) is prepared to provide best efforts support and has been thoroughly testing iPhone compatibility with NUIT services.

Impact on End User

Users bringing iPhones to campus will want to know how to connect to NUIT resources. The NUIT Web site has been updated to accomodate this need. Please note that it is not recommended that University administrators rely on the iPhone for business use. Currently, syncing MeetingMaker with the iPhone is unsupported; however, users will be able to access NU's wireless Internet and connect with Northwestern e-mail accounts. To find instructions on how to get connected, please see the Using Your iPhone on Campus Quick Reference Guide.
