- Contemporary telephone device
- The ability to indicate your availability status on your phone, or presence
Impact on End User |
An IP-based telephone set looks like a traditional TDM telephone set but is connected to the IP network to offer enhanced services including call routing and conferencing functionality.
If your building's infrastructure has been fully upgraded to accommodate VoIP and SIP technologies, and you feel that your department could benefit from these enhanced services, visit Telephone Services at NU on the NUIT Web site to learn more about ordering and cost details.
View the campus closet upgrades list on the NUIT Web site to see when specific buildings are scheduled for an upgrade, and note that if a building is marked as complete, a dedicated data connection and an IP-based desktop telephone set are still required for the service. Contact NUIT Network and Communication Services at it-services@northwestern.edu or 847-467-5560 with questions about your building's status.
