In preparation for the 2009-2010 academic year, Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) Academic & Research Technologies (A&RT) has replaced existing PC's in all Resident Computer-Based Registrar scheduled smart classrooms with new, energy efficient, dual boot, Mac Minis.  The Mac Mini is Apple's compact desktop computer, and is capable of running both Mac OS X and Windows.

This upgrade expands the number of smart classrooms providing instructors with a choice of operating systems on the Evanston campus.

Mac Mini Benefits and Features

  • Choice of operating systems
  • Energy efficient – complies with NUIT's commitment to a greener technology
  • Compact – smaller footprint inside the podium

Instructors may now reserve any Resident Computer-Based Smart Classroom without the concern of computer/operating system compatibility.

Mac Mini user instructions are provided in every Resident Computer-Based Smart Classroom and also available on the Smart Classroom Web site.

NUIT A&RT Faculty Support Services will host two informal Mac Mini training sessions in Leverone Auditorium. However, instructors may request smart classroom training at any time.
