The Web SSO Replacement project to replace end of life hardware and software for the University’s web Single Sign-On (SSO) gateway, Online Passport, has experienced unexpected technical challenges requiring the temporary suspension of application migrations to the new web SSO environment.
While the system remains stable, irregularities continue to be observed. The suspension of application migrations is intended to avoid triggering the issues impacting the user experience within the new web SSO environment.
NUIT continues to work with the vendor to stabilize the new web SSO environment before establishing a new migration schedule. See IT Project: Web SSO Replacement for timely project updates.
Impact on End User
During this time, application owners with an immediate need to make a standard policy change on an application already migrated to the new web SSO environment, should contact Bob Stabile or Xiaoxia Dong for assistance. All approved policy changes will be performed after 7:00 p.m. or before 7:00 a.m. to eliminate any potential outages during business hours.
For applications that have not yet been migrated to the new environment, application owners will be notified of a new migration schedule as it becomes available.
NUIT continues to work closely with application owners via a special listserv to provide timely information as this project progresses.
