Classroom Clickers to Upgrade January 2013

The University’s Student Response System (SRS) software, or classroom clickers, will be upgraded to TurningPoint 5.0 effective January 1, 2013.  In addition to a streamlined user interface, the upgraded software will include:

  • Support for smartphones
  • Priority ranking as a response
  • Team function to support student collaboration

Impact on End User

Instructors who use classroom clickers must upgrade to the new software. SRS hardware and software installation instructions are available on the NUIT website.

The new software will also be installed on all University Smart Classroom computers and will be available for use at the beginning of winter quarter 2013.

To prepare for the software upgrade, NUIT is offering three learning forums for instructors on November 15. The SRS vendor, Turning Technologies, will demonstrate the new software features and answer questions. Register now for “Integrating TurningPoint 5.0 into Your Course Learning Forum.”

No action will be required by students, who were issued TurningPoint 5.0-compatible Student Response System receivers at the beginning of the 2012-13 academic year.
