New Retirement Date for Northwestern SSID

The retirement date for the "Northwestern" SSID is moved to January 19, 2022. Continued testing this summer identified that hiding the Northwestern SSID will prevent some devices from re-connecting to the Northwestern SSID, creating a disruption for Northwestern community members.
As a result of this new information and feedback from the community, the planned approach for retiring the SSID has been modified to keep the "Northwestern" SSID visible and ensure Wi-Fi connectivity for users while on-campus until January 19, 2022.

Impact on the Northwestern Community
Students, faculty, and staff should connect to the "eduroam" Wi-Fi network. Beginning in August, users with devices connecting via the "Northwestern" SSID will receive regular email notifications reminding them to switch to "eduroam."
