The Teaching and Learning Technologies team supports instructors in their use of the Canvas Learning Management System through individual consultations and workshops as well as expert course development guidance. We promote innovation and collaborate with other units to support digital accessibility initiatives and inclusive teaching and active learning practices. We also host the annual TEACHx conference to showcase academic excellence and experiments in teaching with technology.

CourseLife
Starting in June 2026, Canvas course sites for CAESAR-based courses will be part of the CourseLife process that will archive any site older than four years. Instructors should use the CourseLife tool in Canvas to track courses that will be archived and take action if necessary. Instructors can use the NU Support Canvas Chatbot to request a prep site for storing course content. Prep sites and custom course sites will not be archived. Learn more about CourseLife.
Educational Technology Fellows
The Educational Technology Fellows (Ed Tech Fellows) is a collaborative group of like-minded instructors that explore the use of technology to foster enhanced learning experiences. Faculty and instructional staff from across Northwestern work towards pedagogical projects that involve technology to help enhance their teaching. Learn how you can get involved.
