Webex Decommission Scheduled for April 28

Northwestern IT is decommissioning Webex on Thursday, April 28, 2022. The University has shifted to Zoom and Microsoft Teams for its conferencing and collaboration needs, and Webex use has severely declined in the last year. In addition, decommissioning Webex presents a cost-savings opportunity for the University and the ability to consolidate technology support around two primary services.
Current Webex users can use this three-month window to explore and trial both Zoom and Microsoft Teams, which offer a user-friendly experience and cover general conferencing scenarios.
While Webex will remain available until April 28, the campus community is encouraged to start using Zoom or Microsoft Teams as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition to these services.
