Northwestern Transitions to Zoom Web Conferencing Service

Beginning March 9, 2020, Northwestern is transitioning from the BlueJeans conferencing service to Zoom, an alternative cloud-based web conferencing service. Zoom is available now to anyone with a Northwestern NetID. BlueJeans will be retired effective, August 1, 2020.

Webex remains a conferencing option for Northwestern faculty and staff.

BlueJeans will be removed from Canvas at the end of Spring Quarter on June 15, 2020. Instructors who have recorded meetings in BlueJeans and wish to keep them, will need to be saved to personal storage or transferred to Panopto by August 1, 2020.  For download instructions, please visit the IT Knowledge Base.

Students, faculty, and staff may log in to Zoom to schedule, host, or moderate a Zoom meeting. First-time users will need to download the Zoom application when using a computer. Mobile users will need to download the Zoom app from Google Play or the App Store.

An account is automatically provisioned after the first log in. Instructions for how to schedule a meeting and attend a meetings are available in the IT Knowledge Base.
