Northwestern IT Website Refresh Project Kicks-Off

Effective Date: May 19, 2021

Northwestern IT is pleased to partner with the Office of Global Marketing and Communications (OGMC) to launch the Northwestern IT Website Refresh project. The multi-phase, year-long effort includes a full audit of the site's information architecture to ensure the University community can access intuitive, up-to-date service information that enhances their technology experience at Northwestern.

Assessment, Discovery, and Research

The essential research phase of the project kicks off today, May 19. In addition to reviewing Google Analytics and Siteimprove’s heat map data, the phase includes:
  • Online Survey—Available now, the University community can visit the Northwestern IT site and take a quick three- to five-minute survey to offer feedback.
  • User-Experience Testing—University community members representing students, faculty, staff, and researchers will participate in OGMC-led sessions that ask users to complete a series of tasks on the site while under observation.
  • Stakeholder Interviews—With OGMC’s assistance, we will conduct interviews with several individuals and groups, including Northwestern IT senior leaders, unit directors, Service Desk representatives, and technology leaders across campus.
