Have you been seeing TEACHx emails but you’re not really sure if they’re for you? Want more information about this year’s program? Learn about TEACHx in general and some of the anticipated highlights at this year’s event!

What is TEACHx?

Hosted by Teaching and Learning Technologies with support from the Office of the Provost, TEACHx is an annual event that showcases innovative approaches to teaching and learning with technology.

Who attends TEACHx?

A wide range of faculty, learning design and support staff, graduate student instructors, and others from the campus community attend TEACHx. Anyone who is involved in supporting innovative education is welcome to attend. The event is free for Northwestern-affiliated attendees. We also welcome educators from other area universities to TEACHx and will have several presenters from other schools this year.

What are the topics of TEACHx sessions?

While TEACHx topics address a number of timely and relevant topics, here are some themes that will have people talking at this year’s program:

  • ChatGPT and artificial intelligence
  • Alternative assessment and grading strategies
  • Inclusive teaching and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in course materials
  • Accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
  • Self-care and student care in teaching

What is the format of TEACHx?

TEACHx offers a mix of session types, from short conversations at the digital poster session to in-depth conversations at interactive sessions, panels, and workshops. This year’s event will span one and a half days, May 17-18. See the schedule in brief at the TEACHx website and keep an eye on future emails for details about the full program schedule.

Be sure to read more about the keynote address and featured workshop (sponsored by AccessibleNU) on the Attend section of the TEACHx website.

Whether this will be your first TEACHx or you have joined us for every offering of the event, we know you will find inspiration in this year’s many sessions and collaboration opportunities. We hope to see you there!
