Introducing the Northwestern IT Service Catalog

Posted Date: 21 Mar 2019

Effective Date: 21 Mar 2019

Whether you’re delivering enterprise level-IT services to an entire organization or delivering more customized services to small groups of independent users, the service catalog plays a critical role in providing access to services and support. This month, Northwestern IT unveiled its new and improved service catalog, which is now the best source of information on the 120 service offerings it provides to faculty, students, and staff.

The Northwestern IT service catalog has been designed to help individuals quickly identify services that are available. It is meant to streamline the way users request access to IT services while gaining helpful information, including whether there is a cost for the service and how to request support. The catalog also follows higher education best practices in delivering service information and is designed to improve the end user’s experience.

“Northwestern IT continues to look for ways to enhance the service offerings it provides to faculty, students, and staff,” said Peggy A. McCready, associate vice president, Northwestern IT Services and Support. “Our hope is that the new catalog makes it easier for our campus community to gain access to the services and information they need in a more straightforward and consistent manner.”

Easy Access to Services and Support

The catalog is easy to find. Just click “Find Services” in the banner image on the Northwestern IT home page or the “Service Catalog” tab located on the IT site’s navigation bar. Once there, you will find services grouped into eight service lines:

Each of the above service lines contains individual services and service offerings; in fact, there are more than 55 services and 120 service offerings!
