Holiday Wishes and Winter Break Details

Dear Northwestern IT Staff,

December brings many celebrations across the world’s various cultures and within our own diverse Northwestern IT community. Some are currently celebrating, while others are gearing up for holiday festivities in the coming weeks. I want to wish all of you a joyous holiday season. Supporting one another—inside and outside the workplace—is something I see modeled here daily. I am grateful to be a part of an organization prioritizing this empathetic behavior.

As we prepare for the holidays, I want to remind everyone about our approach to Winter Break, which is unchanged from past years. Leadership remains fully committed to ensuring staff can enjoy this time away as broadly as possible. However, our 24/7 essential services will continue, meaning from December 22 through January 1, the campus community can continue to call 847-491-4357 (1-HELP) to access support staff on-call for urgent matters.

Any occurrence requiring escalation will be advanced as appropriate. Those onsite or monitoring and responding to critical issues remotely during break exemplify reliability and ensure Northwestern IT’s exceptional service remains available. For that, you continue to have our deepest thanks. We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Please also remember to RSVP for our Winter Luncheon, which occurs on Wednesday, January 24, at The Woman’s Club of Evanston. If you still need to confirm your attendance, please do so by Tuesday, January 9, at 5 p.m. This annual event allows our IT community to gather, socialize, and celebrate the previous year’s successes. Equally important, it allows us to show our appreciation for you.

Thank you for continuing to push this organization forward. Please find time to relax and enjoy what I hope is a happy, healthy, and rejuvenating break.
